Service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 12 Noon at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Officiating will be Fr. Rob Howe. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 am until the service time at 12 noon. Memorials may be offered to Courtney Manor Nursing Facility. Bertha June is survived by: 1 Son – Floyd (Linda) Stroschein of Bad Axe. 2 Daughters – Judy (Larry) Stirrett of Sandusky and Janet (Al) Dean of Sterling Heights. 2 Brothers – Joseph (Donelda) Carriveau of Filion and Robert (Eleanor) Carriveau of Kinde. 6 Grandchildren – Kimberly Christy, Tricia (Jeff) Dudley, Cathy Dean, Craig (Christine) Dean, Dawn Berridge, Kari (Dan) Stroschein – Perrine. 9 Great-grandchildren and 4 Great-great-grandchildren. Bertha June was preceded in death by: 1 Brother – Johnny Carriveau. 2 Sisters – Catherine Plicheinski and Della Johnston.

Biography

Bertha June Stroschein, age 94, of Bad Axe, passed away on Saturday December 30, 2017 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe. Bertha June was born on June 9, 1923 in Bad Axe, daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Stinetz) Carriveau. She married Frederick W. Stroschein on May 4, 1940. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1996. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
