He is survived by his children Robert of Rochester Hills, Gerald (Kathryn) of Shelby Twp, and Debra (Ed) Wolfe of Caseville; grandchildren Jacquelyn, Robert II, Dianna, Gerald, Daniel, Timothy, Emily, Stephanie (Joshua) and Jason; sister Joyce Urban of Plymouth; and friend Valerie Trombly of Caseville. He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth, daughter Sandra and son Ronald.
Gerald E. Dekker, 81, of Caseville, died Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his home under hospice care. Jerry was born October 4, 1935 in LaSalle, Ontario to the late Benjamin and Bernadette (Chappus) Dekker. He graduated from Detroit’s MacKenzie High School in 1953. He married Beverly Rubikas on September 4, 1954 in Detroit; she preceded him in death December 31, 1993. He was the owner of D&S Die and Mold in Roseville until retiring in 1995. Having built a cottage on Saginaw Bay in 1965, he began splitting his time between his home in Caseville and winters in Naples, Florida after retiring. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially golfing, fishing, hunting and bowling. He was a member of Scenic, Caseville Eagles and St. Roch.
