Funeral service for Lawrence will be 6 pm on Friday, December 30th at the MacAlpine Funeral Home. Cremation will take place following the service. Burial will take place in the spring at Croton Township, Michigan. Visitation will be at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Friday, December 30th from noon until time of service. He is survived by his step son: Niel Nielson, and his wife, Diane, of Farmington Hills; step daughters: Stephanie Nielson of Ubly and Julie Brandow, and her husband, Rick, of Harbor Beach; 4 grandchildren: Shannon Webb and her husband, Jamie, Dennis Bailey, Amanda Mrazek, and her husband, Jeff, and Justin Nielson and his fiancé, Danielle; 2 great grandchildren: Charlie and Brynlee; sisters: Beatrice Rutkowski of Westland and Gertrude Pawlowski-Fudala, and her husband, Chester, of Troy; sister in laws: Mary Ann Longuski of Peck, Mary Jane Longuski and Arlene Longuski, both of Ubly; and several nieces and nephews. Lawrence was preceded in death by his brothers: Marvin, Earl and Jerome “Jerry” Longuski; and two brothers in law: Marshall Rutkowski and James Pawlowski.

Biography

Lawrence L. Longuski, 87, of Ubly, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2016 at Autumwood of Deckerville. He was born on March 5, 1929 to the late Leo and Victoria (Warchock) Longuski. On December 18, 1976, he married Lillian “Florence” Davison in Ubly. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2002. Lawrence was a member of the Rose Society, the Ubly Fox Hunters Club, the Octagon Barn Auxiliary, the Thumb Two Cylinder Club and was on the Board of Directors on the Huron Aviation Club. He loved gardening, raising orchids, hunting, and restoring vintage airplanes and steam engines.
