He is survived by his wife Victoria, and children: Greg (Peggy) Turner of Delta Junction, Alaska, Glenda (Ike) Killinger of Reese, Jenny (Monte) Hanks of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lori (Fred) Santos of Elkton, Angy (David McIlhargie) Turner of Caseville, Amy Ruth of Martin, and Steve (Emily) Turner of Pigeon; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald (Lorraine) Turner.
Glenn J. Turner, age 87 of Pigeon, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care, Pigeon. He was born in Berkley, Michigan on February 20, 1929 and was the son of Leo and Florence (McPherson) Turner. Soon after birth his family moved to Pigeon. While in high school, Glenn worked at the Pigeon Dairy and Creamery, and graduated from Pigeon High School in 1946. On February 12, 1949 he and Victoria M. Morin were united in marriage at Salem E.U.B. Church in Pigeon. They have been married for over 67 years. After high school Glenn worked as manager for the Pigeon Egg and Processing plant, and later became an award winning Insurance Agent for the Prudential Insurance Company, retiring in 1993. Glenn had worked for the company for over 25 years. Vicky and Glenn have enjoyed wintering in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the past 23 years. Glenn was a faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church, where he held many offices over the years. He was also an active member of the Pigeon Lions Club, having once received the "Lion of the Year" award. Glenn enjoyed golfing and was a member of Century Oaks Golf Course. More than 50 years ago, Glenn and his brother Ron built a cabin retreat near Frederic, Michigan, and throughout the years he and Vicky have enjoyed spending time there with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Glenn was a quiet, kind man and has been admired by his family, friends and community.
