Funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday December 23rd, 2016 at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach, MI. The Rev. Bill Spencer will preside. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday December 22nd, 2016 at Ramsey Funeral home in Harbor Beach and from 10 to 11 at the church Friday before the mass of burial. She is survived by 11 children; Thomas (Charlet) Essenmacher of Los Lunas N.M., Douglas (Vickie) Essenmacher of Cadillac, Audrey (Steve) Schock Calgary Alberta, Karen (Mark) Sfara of Youngstown Ohio, Duane (Chantella) Essenmacher of Katy Texas, Dale Essenmacher of Augusta Kansas, Neal (Pauline) Essenmacher of Harbor Beach, Timothy (Courtney) Essenmacher of Lathrup Village, Joseph (Tami) Essenmacher of Shelby Township, Renae Essenmacher of Spooner Wisconsin, Kevin (Jamie) Essenmacher of Lansing; 40 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; four brothers, Robert Booms, Gene Booms, Albert Booms, Warren Booms; three sisters, Matilda Messing, Charlotte Talaski, Ramona Bell. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, sisters Judy, Clarice and Barbara and brothers Kenneth, James and Stephen.
Marilyn J. Essenmacher (Booms), 82 of Harbor Beach, passed away Tuesday December 19th, 2016 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 27th 1934 in Harbor Beach to the late Clarence and Laura (Scholtz) Booms. Marilyn married her husband of 57 years, Lloyd Essenmacher on June 20th, 1953 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Helena. Marilyn dedicated her life to serving family, friends and community through sewing, quilting, baking pies and care of others. She was a seamstress extraordinaire, sewing for local businesses and members of the community for over sixty years. Marilyn loved spending time with others and playing with her grandchildren. She created hundreds of quilts and rag rugs for family and the needy. Marilyn was an active member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church.
