Funeral service for Frank will be 11am on Wednesday, December 21st at the First United Methodist Church in Bad Axe with Rev. Phil Tousley officiating. Visitation will be at the MacAlpine Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 20th from 2 – 8pm. Visitation will also be at the church on Wednesday, December 21st from 10 am until time of service. He is survived by his children, Marv (Marcia) Janik of Bad Axe, Nadine Janik of Bad Axe; step son, Johnny (Kathline) Purvis of Mississippi; step daughter, Ava Massingale of Texas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his siblings: Henry (Nancy) Janik, Mary Gucwa, Helen (Walt) Storckle and Peter Janik, all of Bad Axe; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Janik; sister, Frances Bartnik; step daughters, Dolly Sanders and Paula Edwards; brother in law, Walter Gucwa and sister in law, Fronda Janik.
Frank J. Janik, 84, of Bad Axe, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 17, 2016. He was born on April 23, 1932 in Bad Axe to the late John and Lottie Janik. Frank was united in marriage to Dorothy P. Nunnery on August 10, 1945 in Bad Axe. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2002. Frank worked at Active Industries in Elkton, retiring after 43 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bad Axe. He enjoyed cutting wood, cooking, hunting, fishing on the boat and spending time with family and friends.
