Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, December 28, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. Rev. Craig Pillow, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 8 PM Sunday and at the church after 10 AM Monday. Memorials may be directed to the Hope Center, East End Baptist Church or Positive Alternatives (addresses available at funeral home).
Surviving are three daughters, Cathy (Scott) Steele of Bay Port, Carol (Mark) Stoeckle of Cass City and Cindy Krohn of Adrian; six grandchildren, Adam Stoeckle, Andrew (Laura) Stoeckle, Jaclynn (Jacob) Nolan, Dr Angela (Joseph) Lounsbury, Erin (Matthew Papkey) Steele and Ashleigh Stoeckle; great grandchildren, William, Samuel and Edward Stoeckle, RosaMae and Benjamin Lounsbury; sister-in-law, Anna Marie Krohn of Elkton; family friend, Kathy Campbell and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was a grandson, Aaron Stoeckle; sister, Loree McClain and brother, Nolan Proffitt.
She was born August 30, 1926 in West Plains, Missouri to the late William and Edna (Johns) Proffitt. On August 13, 1955, she was united in marriage to William R. Krohn in West Plains, MO. They made their home on a farm in Oliver Twp, where she and Bill raised three daughters. RosaMae worked on the farm with Bill, where she also had a beautiful flower garden. She had a vegetable garden which she canned the harvest each year. Bill preceded her in death at a young age in 1981. Her nephews took over the operation of the farm, but she lived there until the day she passed. RosaMae was an active member of the Elkton United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, taught Sunday school and served many funeral dinners. She had been a member of the Elkton Women’s Civic Club and Huron County Farm Bureau.
