Funeral Information

Visitation will be Friday, January 2, 2015, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-9pm. The funeral service will be Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Salem United Methodist Church in Pigeon. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will take place at 3:30pm at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Sebewaing. Betty is survived by her children: Frank (Renee) Ondrajka of Pigeon, Cheryl Elenbaum of Pigeon, Robert (Rose) Ondrajka of Sebewaing, David Ondrajka of Sebewaing, and Daniel Ondrajka of Gagetown; 9 grandchildren: Justin, Lindsay, Brooke, Tina (fiancé Jim Purcell), Jeff (Kami), Alyssa (fiancé Chad), Robert Jr. (special friend Heather), David (Nashia) and Tricia (special friend Travis); 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, George Ondrajka; siblings: Donald Parsell, Ralph Parsell, Harold Parsell, Lawrence Parsell, Howard Parsell, Richard Parsell, Frank Parsell, Ruth Allen, Irene Lintner, Margaret Murich and Mary Parsell, change American Cancer Society to American Heart Association

Biography

Betty Jane Ondrajka, age 80, of Gagetown, passed away December 30, 2014, at Vadavilla AFC Home in Unionville. Betty was born January 5, 1930, in Unionville, to the late Jesse and Edna (Wing) Parsell. On April 11, 1953, she married George Ondrajka, Jr. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1995. She enjoyed gardening, baking homemade bread, making walnut baskets for her grandchildren, her dog, Buddy, watching the Detroit Tigers, reading the newspaper, and spending time with her grandchildren.
