Funeral Information

Funeral Services will be Friday, December 26, 2014, at 1pm at the St. John Lutheran Church in Port Hope, with Rev. Ron Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation for Lena will be on Friday, at the church, beginning at 12 noon until time of services at 1pm. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com

Family of the Deceased

She is survived by her sister Jean Berry and her husband Stanley of Caro, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lena was preceded in death by her siblings: Olga Eggert, Emma Hartz, Caroline Reinke, Louise Lampela, Esther Zelz, Erwin Pleiness, Ernest Pleiness, and Alexander Pleiness.

Biography

Lena B. Pleiness, age 94, of Port Hope, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Lakeview Extended Care and Rehab Center of the Harbor Beach Community Hospital. She was born on July 31, 1920 in Bloomfield Township to the late Albert and Theresa (Schave) Pleiness. Lena was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Port Hope, farmed alongside her brothers, and enjoyed flowers and working in the garden.
