Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton. Rev. Rodney Schwab, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 8 PM Monday and at the church after 10 AM Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to the family and words of condolence may be shared at www.cfcelkton.com.

Surviving are seven children, David (Pamela) Bannick of Milan, Gustave (Mary) Bannick of Gladstone, MO, Linda Gibbs of Pilot Point, TX, Ginger (Michael) Smigelski of Charlotte, Richard (Rhonda) Bannick, Sgt US Army of Radcliff, KY Dale (Michelle) Bannick of Saginaw, Robert (Kelly) Bannick of Waterford; a brother, Retired Colonel USAF Frank (Delores) Kastraba of Papillon, NB; 17 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, and many nephews & nieces. Preceding her in death are her son, Command Master Chief Petty Officer John Bannick, US Navy; four sisters, Helen Salvia, Jean DeGrandt, Mary Hutchinson and Anna McCallum; two brothers George and Alex Kastraba.

Biography

Judith A. Bannick, age 85, of Elkton went home to her Lord, Tuesday, March 18, and is now reunited with her husband, Gustave. She was born October 8, 1928 in Wheeling, West Virginia and moved to Michigan shortly after birth. Judy graduated from Elkton High School in 1946. Shortly after high school she married Gustave Bannick. Judy was a homemaker and mother, raising eight children, the youngest ones on her own after her husband passed away April 17, 1977. She was a hard worker and was well known for cooking and wonderful baked goods. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elkton and loved having her family around.
