Roland is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Burton and Maria Eichler of Pigeon; grandsons, Yuri and Oleksander “Sasha”; sister, Verna Wright of Pigeon; brother and sister-in-law, Archie and Inez Leitch of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion in 2002.
Roland A. Eichler, 90 of Pigeon, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe. Born in Pigeon on November 25, 1923, he was the son of the late Alfred and Greta Mae (Wurtz) Eichler. On July 27, 1959 he was united in marriage to Marion Beulah Burton in Bay City. Roland lived on the small family farm and retired from farming but continued in the auto salvage business for many years. He enjoyed attending senior citizen dances, musical performances, tractor pulls, car races, and the Detroit Tigers. He also especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Pigeon, serving as Sunday School Secretary for several years.
