Funeral Information

Visitation is Monday, December 30, 2013 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home from 2-9pm, with a Rosary service at 7pm. The funeral service is Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:30am until the time of service at 10:30am. Burial will take place at Holy Family catholic Cemetery in Sebewaing. Memorial donations may be made to Heartland Hospice in Bay City or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Janice Rocha of Sebewaing; his children: Mark Rocha of Sebewaing, Susan (William) Kain of Sebewaing, Gary Rocha of Saginaw and Matthew (Nicole) Rocha of Sebewaing; siblings: Phil Rocha, David Rocha, Fred (Christine) Rocha; sister-in-law, Theresa Rocha; grandchildren: Jason (Michelle) Kain, Lisa (Christopher) Hausbeck, Eric (Tonya) Kain, David (Rheanna) Rocha and Amanda (Scott) Weisenbach; and 14 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by siblings: John Rocha, Joe Rocha, Mary Barocio and Maxine Zapata; and brother-in-law and sister-in-laws: Elizabeth Rocha, Paula Rocha, Vincent Barocio and Bonifacio Zapata.

Biography

Benjamin “Ben” I. Rocha, age 82, of Sebewaing, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at his home. Ben was born May 12, 1931 to the late Nabor & Frumensia (Perez) Rocha. He is a Sebewaing High School graduate. After school, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp. On November 27, 1954 he married Janice Kuhl at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sebewaing. He worked for 38 years at U.S. Graphite. He enjoyed playing baseball with the Mighty River Hogs of Midland County, watching all sports, yard work and playing guitar.
