. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. A funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Bad Axe, MI on Friday, January 3rd, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service will also be held in St. Louis, MO at Our Lady of the Pillar Church, on Saturday, January 11th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that donations in his name be made to the Steinhardt family scholarship at Bad Axe High School.

He is survived by his parents, two brothers Charles Joseph Steinhardt, George Francis Steinhardt IV and wife Meagan Parker of Boston, MA; his grandmother Sallie Yagel; his grandfathers Joe Yagel of Frankfort KY, and Edward Eugene Steinhardt M.D of Bad Axe MI; his beloved Aunt Mary, Uncle Brian, Michael and Joseph Tanner of St. Louis, MO. and many other family members. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Biography

EDWARD EUGENE STEINHARDT, age 31, of St. Louis, MO died Monday, December 23. He was born in Danville, VA., the son of George Francis Steinhardt, M.D. and Julia Yagel Steinhardt. Edward graduated from Ladue Horton Watkins High School in St. Louis MO before attending Denison University. He was a walk on swimmer successfully achieving a place on perennial Division 2 championship swim team. After graduating from college with a BS degree in Biology he attended graduate school in Chicago at DePaul University. He then worked in the international pharmaceutical industry in Naperville, IL for 6 years. Most recently, Edward was employed by Thomas Industrial Coatings of St. Louis, MO as a project manager stationed in Duluth, Minnesota. Edward succumbed to exposure and hypothermia braving blizzard conditions that entrapped his vehicle. He died trying to come home for Christmas. Devoted and loyal to family and friends, Edward showed steadfast compassion, positive energy, and boundless love to all. While he enjoyed playing the guitar, writing poetry, and working out, generating laughter and good humor were his forte. Edward was a truly a free spirit. He had a positive impact on everybody he encountered. A conscientious and diligent employee, he worked extremely hard.
