Meet the Jocks
You hear your favorite WLEW On Air Personalities everyday, but how much do you really know about them?
Bryan Terry
Bryan Terry has been a news broadcaster and overnight disk jockey at WLEW since he was 18 years old.
He is a graduate of Specs Howard School of Media Arts, where he was named "most informative news anchor"
of his class.
When he isn't at work, Bryan enjoys listening to music and watching movies. Being a bit of a multi-talent,
while in college he would enjoy performing music around Detroit and on the Specs Howard campus with a band
he and his class mates formed called the "Goons 'n Spoons." In the group Bryan was the spoon player and
a vocalist, sometimes accompanying the group on guitar or his ukulele. He really enjoys the styles of
musicians and groups such as Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC, and Blind Willie McTell, but is a lover of most all music.
Bryan's passion lies with the news, priding himself in delivering facts, not fabricated editorials swayed
to his opinion. He says "There is always two sides to a story, and my job isn't to tell people what I
think is right or wrong. My job is to give people the information they need to form their own thoughts.
A large part of what is missing from society is free thinkers. But how can we be expected to think
freely when everyone has an agenda and an open mouth, and closed ears?"
Jay Lake
Former resident of Lake Orion, mi is a fresh addition to the WlEW team.
A graduate of Specs Howard School of Media, Jay is new to the Thumb area.
His interests include political and philosophical discussion, reading
fantasy novels, playing fantasy card games, and generally staying as far
away from reality as possible. When he's not writing his own biography
in the third person, he's probably lounging in his small one bedroom
apartment pondering the mysteries of the universe, or what he's going
to have for dinner.

If I weren't talking to you right now I'd be…: Watching the news somewhere
A phrase I use far too often…: Is something I can't say on-air or on the website
Wish people would take more notice of…: my positive attitude
The most surprising thing to happen to me was… my journey into radio
A common misconception of me is.. that I am a big scary guy.. I'm just a big softy
I am not a politician but…: If we would all work together we would get a lot more done …
I am good at… Making people laugh. I think so anyway…
I am very bad at…. Cleaning my apartment
The ideal night out is…. A few friends. A few drinks and karaoke
In moments of weakness I…. curse like a sailor
The best age to be is.. whatever age I am, as long as I am having fun….
In a nutshell, my philosophy is this: If you're not having fun, your're not trying!!
