The newly remodeled Pigeon VFW Hall was packed Thursday evening for the "Farmer's Summerfest Throw Back Thursday Event" This fundraiser was a wing tasting event featuring the "Best of the Best" chicken wing recipes from the winners over the past 5 years. This year featured 8 recipes to sample:
2018 1st Place - Pigeon Family Market's "Louisiana Simmer"
2018 2nd Place - Century Oaks Golf Course "Raspberry Bourbon"
2017 1st Place - Pigeon Family Market "Creamy Blue Cheese"
2017 2nd Place - Mainstreet cafe "Sweet N Little Heat"
2016 1st Place - Kevin Sturm "Firecracker Wings"
2016 2nd Place - Zac Pionk "Great White Buffalo"
2015 1st Place - Josh Emmerson "Sweet Agave Buffalo"
2014 1st Place Dave Cook "BBQ Avanue"
Once all the guests licked their fingers, their plate, and voted, the "Farmer's Summerfest Grand Champion" was awarded to Zac Pionk for his "Great White Buffalo Wings" recipe. Entertainment for the evening was the band "Cool2Duel" Dueling Pianos.
