Families Against Narcotics Forum discussed pros and cons in regards to Proposal 18-1 at the Expo Center Tuesday night. The discussion was led by Judge Gerald Prill, and was held to inform the community of all the details behind Proposal 18-1 which is a proposed law to legalize possession, use and cultivation of marijuana by individuals who are at least 21 years of age, and commercial sales of marijuana through state licensed retailers. Some pros are it will substitute for opiate medication, far less toxic than prescription drugs, and tax revenue. The cons were a rise in youth usage and marijuana is considered a gateway drug, among many other pros and cons discussed. The final decision will be up to voters on November 6th.
