Down Power Line Sparks Flames Near Caseville Thursday

A a fire broke out due to a down power line sparking into a blaze on Oak Point Drive Thursday afternoon.

Caseville Fire Chief Ben Willenberg stated a Detroit Edison power line pole broke from the base into a patch of trees at around 4 p.m.

No property was damaged and the few residences that lost power were cottage vacancies.

Responders were on scene overseeing the fire, while Edison arrived, for about an hour.
