Owendale-Gagetown School has recognized a group of standout students for November, highlighting the character trait "Respectful of Others." The month's focus honors students who show care for others and their property, demonstrate courtesy, cooperate with classmates, accept differences, and interact appropriately with those around them.
Students selected for November include: Trinity Lomeli, kindergarten, daughter of Kortney Prisoc and Jose Lomeli; Raelynn Hockmuth, first grade, daughter of Jennifer and Tony Hockmuth; Hudson Treib, third grade, son of Kayla and Greg Treib; Evelyn Lomeli, fourth grade, daughter of Kortney Prisoc and Jose Lomeli; Cassilyn Hux, eighth grade (junior high level), daughter of Darla and Donald Hux; Kobain Smith, ninth grade (high school level), son of Kayla and Benjamin Smith; and Ayriona Maikrzek, twelfth grade (senior student), daughter of Charles and Norah Hartman and John Maikrzek.
Senior Ayriona Maikrzek received special recognition as "Senior Student of the Month." She has served as a class officer all four years of high school, acting as class representative and secretary as a freshman and as class vice president during her sophomore, junior, and senior years. She has also been active in athletics, playing varsity softball since her sophomore year and participating in both JV and varsity volleyball since her freshman year.
Maikrzek has represented her class on multiple school courts, serving as a homecoming queen candidate as a senior, a homecoming court member as a junior, and a snowball court representative as a freshman. She has also spent two years at the Huron Area Technical Center, enrolled in the Construction program, and plans to enter the workforce after graduation, with trade school among her options for further training.
