At about 7:44 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, the Sanilac County Sheriff's Department was dispatched for the report of a two-vehicle crash.
The crash was on South Van Dyke Road near Clifford Road.
The preliminary investigation by deputies determined that a 2000 GMC SUV, which was driven by a 41-year-old Vassar man, was traveling north on Van Dyke when he attempted to make a left turn into a driveway.
The driver failed to yield to oncoming southbound traffic and collided with a 2012 Ford F-150, driven by a 41-year-old Marlette woman.
The impact caused the Ford F-150 to spin out and strike a tree, while the GMC SUV came to rest perpendicular to the roadway in the southbound lane.
The Marlette woman was treated on scene by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries and was released. The Vassar man was not injured.
Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
Names were not released at this time.
