Illness Halts Cat Adoptions At Genesee County Animal Shelter

Genesee County Animal Control has temporarily stopped accepting and adopting out cats after confirming a case of panleukopenia, a contagious and potentially deadly feline virus.

According to the agency, the shelter is being thoroughly cleaned to protect the animals' health. Dog intakes and adoptions remain unaffected during the closure.
