Bingham Township Board Reviewed Ambulance Needs and Finances

An update on ambulance service and finances was done during this month's Bingham Township Board of Trustees meeting.
Jim Zulauf, who is Bingham Township's representative on the Central Huron Ambulance Board, reported that training equipment was purchased from Grant and was funded by money from the opioid lawsuit settlement.
He also reported the Port Austin Ambulance Living Facility's roof needs repairs.
During the meeting, John Rutkowski, who is the sexton, noted the cemetery bills of $900 from Mark's Lawn and Landscaping, LLC for the Tyre and the Valley cemeteries are due.
He also noted the cleanup for the cemeteries is scheduled for Nov. 1.
In addition, township Treasurer Laura Tyll gave a financial report.
The balance in the General Fund is $531,336, the fire fund balance is $3,383, in the emergency services fund there is $722,813, the road fund has a balance of $70,114, and the cemetery fund has $3,275.
Meetings in November, December, January 2026, February 2026, and March 2026 will be starting at 6:30 p.m. instead of at 7:30 p.m.
