Caseville, MI
- Early Wednesday morning around 7 a.m., the Caseville Fire Department was dispatched to the Breakwall parking lot after a semi-truck's trailer became entangled in low-hanging fiber optic wires.
According to Caseville Fire Chief Ben Willenburg, the driver heard "weird noises" as the trailer snagged the wires. The driver then pulled into the Breakwall lot and called 911. The incident ultimately caused the utility pole to snap in half. The pole had a security light and electrical box attatched to it, as it was a new electrical set up - and who ever installed it allowed the wire to hang down, too low, Willenburg said.
Willenburg said that the street was shut down for about 3 hours while Caseville Fire assessed the scene.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
