Champagne Funeral Chapel is set to rebrand under new ownership, officially becoming Ransford Funeral Home & Cremation Services beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1.
Founded in 1974 by John Champagne, the funeral home has served families in Elkton, Caseville, and later Pigeon, where a new facility was opened in 2018 under James Childs.
The business was acquired earlier this year by the Ransford family, who say they will continue the tradition of compassionate service established over the past five decades.
Both funeral home locations will operate under the Ransford name, though leaders noted they welcome the community's ongoing recognition of the Champagne legacy.
All prearrangements remain valid and will be honored in full.
The Ransford family said the transition reflects a continuation of the values that have guided the funeral home's service to Huron County while carrying forward a commitment to care for families with dignity and compassion.
