The effort to develop the city of Caseville's Riverside Marina into the Riverside Park and Water Trailhead is progressing.
During Thursday's special meeting of the Caseville City Council, approval was given to accept the $120,925 bid from Booms Construction for a fishing pier and sidewalk at Riverside Park.
The council also approved the bid of $14,788 from Maurer Electric, Inc.
That company was hired to do the electrical work and lighting along the fishing pier and sidewalks.
The approval of those contracts is part of the effort to develop Caseville's Riverside Marina into the Riverside Park.
Over the last three years, city officials have been developing plans, getting grants, and working on upgrading the marina into a Riverside Park with a water trailhead.
To help with the cost of developing the park, the city received a Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Trust Fund grant to install a seawall, fishing pier, walkways, lighting and boat launches at Riverside Park.
