A man driving a red Buick Regatta breached a barricade near the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, on Monday, one day after a deadly attack at the same location.
The driver, seen with a long gun in the front seat, was taken into custody by law enforcement, though his identity and motive remain unclear.
The previous day's attack involved a gunman ramming his pickup truck into the church, opening fire on worshippers, and setting the building on fire, resulting in four deaths and eight injuries.
The attacker, identified as 40 year old Thomas Jacob Sanford, was killed in a police shootout. Authorities are investigating the incident as targeted violence, and the church community continues to mourn and recover from the tragedy.
