- According to numerous Facebook Statements made by the community -
Fairview Area Schools received a threat by email today, prompting an evacuation of students to a safe nearby location where parents were able to pick them up.
School officials confirmed the building is now completely shut down. All children and staff have been safely evacuated from school property. Parents reported that the district kept students calm and allowed immediate reunification with families.
The Staff at Fairview Area Schools Is Asking - Important Reminder: Please do not post the location of evacuated students online, as doing so could risk their safety.
Community members are asked to keep the children, staff, families, first responders, and law enforcement in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Parents are also encouraged to remind children that they are safe, as many may not fully understand the seriousness of the situation.
