Elba Township's Sewer User Fee Will Increase in December

The Elba Township Board of Trustees approved an increase in the cost of sewer user fees.
During this month's meeting, the board set the Potter Lake Sewer user fee to be $450 per year. The increase will start on Dec. 1.
The initial motion was to leave the sewer's user fee at $400, but there was no support to approve that motion.
The next motion was to increase the sewer user fee by $50 per year, which the board passed.
The township's planning commission recommended the request from Genesee Road, LLC be denied, and the trustees followed that recommendation to oppose changing zoning from General Commercial (C-2) to Highway Commercial (C-3) for 5463 Genesee Rd.
During the meeting, Supervisor Michael Boskee reported work is progressing on the Parks and Recreation plan, and the plan will be piggy-backed with Lapeer County's Parks and Recreation Plan.
