Imlay Township Adopts New Master Plan (Lapeer Township)

After some revisions, the Imlay Township Board of Trustees approved an updated master plan.
A master plan establishes policies which a municipality can best address and accommodate growth and development while preserving interests.
A master plan serves as a basis for future land use and development decisions, and it helps municipalities qualify for grants.
The board also approved the request to change the zoning of 7847 Imlay City Road's zoning from Enterprise Business to General Business.
During the meeting, it was reported a site plan is in progress for a truck stop gas station at M-53 and I-69, and that work on updating ordinances should be wrapped up by the end of the year.
It was also noted the new picnic tables have been assembled and will be placed in the pavilion near the playground.
The old tables will be moved down to the new pavilion.
