Because the Brown City Manager Charles Bennett announced his resignation in August, the council decided they wanted help in selecting the next manager.

During this month's city meeting, the council narrowed down the list to help the city find the next manager to the Rising Tide Municipal Solutions fee of $9,200 or the Pivot Group whose fee is $9,400.

The open manager position is posted on the city's website and in the window.

Also, the long awaited waster and sewer project is scheduled to start on Monday.

The council also approved the annual Halloween decorating on Main Street will start at 9 a.m. Sunday, (Sept. 28).

Hydrant flushing will start on Monday, Sept. 29 and it will take about a week to complete the flushing.

Because of the work that is being done, residents may notice water discoloration, and it is recommend not washing whites during that time.

The building and grounds meeting was rescheduled to be at 5 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

The council also approved allowing the Rotary Club to have a side by side run on Oct. 11, a chili cook off in the downtown on Oct. 18, and Halloween trunk or treat on Main Street was set to begin at 3:15 p.m. for setup, to start at 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., with trick or treating in the community from 5 to 7 p.m.
