Wells Township Eyed For Two Gravel Mining Operations

Buchholz Transport, Inc., is hoping to be able to do gravel mining in Wells Township on two parcels of land.

Before Buchholz can do that, the Wells Township Planning Commission will conduct a special meeting to consider approving the contractor's request for special land use permits or not.

The planning commission will meet at 7 p.m., on Oct. 7 at the township hall at 2190 Frankford Rd., Caro.

Those who cannot attend the meeting can send written comments to the township hall on that issue.

In other township matters, the board learned the Tuscola County Road Commission will be doing a study at the intersection of Hurds Corner Road and Bevens Road in an effort to address the multiple accidents that happen at that intersection.
