Imlay City Commission Approves School District Homecoming Events

The Imlay City School District is getting ready to celebrate homecoming, but first an agreement has to be worked out with the city on special permits for the celebration.
The Imlay City Commission approved special permits for the school district's homecoming celebration that includes a parade along with a pep rally downtown on Sept. 26. The pep rally is from 4 to 6 p.m., and the parade is at 5 p.m.
The council also approved a permit to allow a food truck downtown for the event. The Truck will be parked in the farmers market parking lot from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
In other district matters, the board approved continuing to meet in the Educational Service Center for the 2025-2026 fiscal school year on the fourth Monday of the month at 7 p.m. except in December, and May and June in 2026 when the meetings will be on the third Monday because of the holidays.
