Port Austin Motorcycle Crash Reported On Sunday

A motorcyclist was seriously injured following a collision with another vehicle in Port Austin Sunday afternoon.
According to reports, Port Austin firefighters and Central Huron Ambulance crews were dispatched around 12:45 p.m. to the intersection of Spring and Omelia streets. First responders reportedly found the motorcycle rider severely injured but conscious and breathing.
Medical helicopters were reportedly unavailable, so the rider was taken by ambulance to McLaren Thumb Region in Bad Axe for additional treatment.
About an hour after the initial response, EMS crews were called back to the scene after a firefighter became ill in what was reported as a possible heat-related medical emergency.
Authorities have not released the motorcyclist's identity, an updated condition, or details about what led to the collision.
