A not-guilty plea has been entered in Huron County District Court for Scott Arthur Campbell, who is charged with misdemeanor trespassing.
Campbell appeared in court with attorney Dallas Rooney, while Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Meisner represented the state.
According to the complaint, Campbell is accused of trespassing on or about July 5th, 2026. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 30 days in jail, a fine of up to $250, or both.
After Campbell was advised of the charge, possible penalty and his constitutional rights, his attorney informed the court that Campbell would stand mute. The court then entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf.
Under the court's scheduling order, prosecutors have until September 22nd to provide a completed plea offer and discovery to the defense, along with required witness and exhibit lists.
An in-person plea cutoff hearing is scheduled for October 15th at 9 a.m. Campbell was told he must attend. The hearing also serves as the deadline for accepting a plea agreement and for motions to be filed or heard.
Campbell's bond remains at $3,500 with 10% required, which the court said has already been posted. At the prosecution's request, and without objection from the defense, Campbell is prohibited from entering or going onto the property of the victim while the case is pending.
