Huron Planning Commission to Meet Wednesday

The Huron Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd in the Huron County Building, 250 Huron Ave., Bad Axe.
This meeting will be conducted in the district courtroom in room 105.
According to the preliminary agenda, the commission will review requests from: Oakwood Family Properties LLC, which is the owner of LJ Gascho Furniture Company, 8308 Haist Road, Pigeon, for a new structure.
Bresky Siding and Building Repair, Inc., which is the agent for the Pigeon River Mennonite Church, 7120 Geiger Road, Pigeon, to build a pavilion.
The agenda also lists the commission received several correspondences.
Some of those were from Huron County Economic Development Corporation Director Samantha Schnettler regarding solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) ordinances updates.
The commission also received seven letters of support for Inesap Solar Project, which is being developed by Ranger Power.
There is a summary of the Pinesap Solar Special Approval Use Permit application for a proposed 150-Megawatt solar project in Rubicon Township.
Also, the preliminary plan is to schedule a public hearing on that issue for 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 24. The location of that meeting has not been determined yet.
