Single Vehicle Crash Reported In Hume Township Sunday Afternoon

A single-vehicle crash was reported Sunday afternoon, August 30th, in Hume Township.
According to the Huron County Sheriff's Office crash report, the crash happened at about 2:21 p.m. on Oak Beach Road, roughly 150 feet east of Grassmere Road.
Investigators say a 2019 gray Ford Escape was traveling east on Oak Beach Road when the vehicle entered a curve and went off the right side of the roadway, striking a guardrail. The driver reportedly swerved left in an attempt to avoid the guardrail, but lost control, crossed the roadway and crashed into the curve area.
The report lists driving too fast as the hazardous action. Road conditions were wet and rain was reported at the time of the crash.
The driver, a 46-year-old woman, was wearing a shoulder and lap belt and was not injured. No passengers were listed, and no airbag deployment was reported.
The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Alcohol and drugs were not suspected, and no citation was listed on the report.
