Elkton in Good Financial Shape With A Deficit Eliminated

There was some good financial news reported during Tuesday's Elkton Village meeting.

According to Village President Dan Armbruster, the finance committee had just met with Sara Mallory from Nietzke and Faupel to receive the final audit report for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, and he also reviewed some of the fund balances with the council.

The village received a clean and unmodified opinion from the auditors, which is the highest recommendation.

Also, the water-sewer fund is no longer in a deficit, Armbruster reported.

The village has been steadily working on eliminating the deficit issue in that account that was recognized in 2021.
