Although Monday's meeting of the Caseville City Council only lasted about 30 minutes, some important decisions were made during that time.
The council approved two millage requests to be on the ballot during the November election.
One issue will ask city residents to approve a request for .6 of a mill for pest control. If approved, the millage is expected to generate about $36,442 in revenue the first year.
The other ballot issue will ask city residents to approve .6 of a mill to fund the police department. That millage is also expected to generate about $36,442 in revenue the first year.
In other matters, the council authorize all delinquent accounts and invoices billed by the city prior to April 1, 2026 to be turned over to the 2026 Winter Tax Roll.
Also, the council approved Thumb Brewery's request to have a dumpster, on the property, but in the road right-of-way, temporarily during the Cheeseburger Festival.
During discussion, the Thumb Brewer's owner noted a solution has been found so the dumpster won't be an issue again in 2027.
