The 158th Huron Community Fair continues this week in Bad Axe, bringing together 4-H and FFA exhibitors, agricultural competitions, entertainment and family activities through Saturday. The fair runs August 9th through the 15th at the Huron County Fairgrounds.
Wednesday's schedule features Junior Livestock Association market beef competition beginning at 8 a.m., followed by Small Livestock Association events. Scheurer Health is also hosting its annual Sponsor Day at the fairgrounds, with free health-related activities and community outreach taking place throughout the day at the Scheurer Pavilion.
One of the week's signature events, the Junior Livestock Association Auction, has been moved to Thursday, August 13th, beginning at 9 a.m. Fair officials say the schedule change was made to avoid a conflict with the Sanilac County Fair and to make it easier for buyers who support both events. The auction showcases market beef, feeder steers, sheep and swine raised by local youth, with proceeds benefiting exhibitors and livestock facility improvements.
The fair wraps up Saturday with the Small Livestock Association Auction, giving exhibitors another opportunity to showcase their hard work while continuing a long-standing Huron County fair tradition.
