Stabbing Event At The Lake St. Clair Raft Off

One person is facing felony charges following a stabbing during Saturday's annual Raft Off gathering on Lake St. Clair.
The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office says a record number of boats and visitors packed Muskamoot Bay for the popular event. While most attendees gathered without incident, deputies responded to several disturbances as the day progressed, including multiple fights.
Authorities say a 21-year-old man was stabbed during an altercation. Investigators arrested 26-year-old Salem Asmar of Shelby Township in connection with the incident.
Asmar was arraigned Monday in 72nd District Court on a charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. A judge set bond at $100,000 cash or surety.
The Sheriff's Office also reported that more than 50 people were left stranded after becoming separated from the groups they arrived with.
Sheriff Mat King says deputies welcome visitors to enjoy Lake St. Clair but emphasized that violence and other reckless behavior will not be tolerated, adding that those who break the law on the water will be held accountable.
