Vassar Man Arrested Following Domestic Assault Investigation

A domestic assault investigation in the City of Vassar ended with an arrest Sunday afternoon after the suspect was tracked down by a police K-9.
Authorities say Vassar Police were dispatched to a home around 2:27 p.m. on August 9 after a woman reported she had been assaulted and suffered an eye injury that affected her vision. Deputies from the Tuscola County Sheriff's Office and a Michigan State Police trooper from the Caro Post responded to assist.
Investigators say the suspect fled from the back of the residence before officers arrived. Sheriff's K-9 Belo was deployed and tracked the individual to a shed behind a nearby home, where the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was lodged in the Tuscola County Jail and is facing a charge of domestic assault, third offense. The investigation remains under the direction of the Vassar Police Department.
