Deckerville School is Ready for Fall Sports

The Deckerville Community School District took steps during the last board of education meeting to be ready for the 2026-2027 school year.
The board accepted the resignation of seventh-grade volleyball coach Danica Oldenburg.
With that done, the board approved hiring coaches for fall sports:
Bill Brown will be the head varsity football coach, and Dan Brown will be the assistant varsity football coach.
Erick Burns was hired as the head junior varsity football coach, and Ryan Puzan will be the assistant junior varsity football coach.
Dan Woodard is the head junior high football coach, and Josh Stern is the assistant junior high football coach.
Jessica Heilig is the head varsity volleyball coach, and Sulyn Schumacher is the head junior varsity volleyball coach.
Denneil Park was selected as the head eight-grade volleyball coach.
Steve Linn is the head cross country coach, and varsity and junior varsity coach.
Linda Wright is the assistant cross country coach and varsity high school coach, and Randee Kirkpatrick is a volunteer assistant cross country coach and varsity coach.
