Caro man takes plea at pretrial as trial approaches

A 48 year old Caro man pleaded guilty to Larceny in a Building and Habitual Offender - third offense when he appeared for his final pre-trial hearing Friday morning. Scott Alan Heckroth (right) was getting closer to trial before taking the plea in Huron County Circuit Court. Sentencing was set for July 24th and his bond was continued. Heckroth is in state custody on conviction of a number of similar charges of Larceny in a Building, Identity Theft, Resisting and Obstructing a police officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Forgery.
Last week in District Court, 32 year old Angela Lee Palmer of Sebewaing waived her preliminary examination and was bound over to Circuit Court, where she pleaded guilty to three counts of delivery of a controlled substance and habitual offender - second offense. As part of a plea bargain with prosecutors, she must testify truthfully, and pay full restitution. Sentencing will be July 17th and bond was continued.
Also last week, 42 year old Damion Raphaele Burton of Saginaw waived his preliminary examination in District Court and pleaded guilty to three counts of delivery of a controlled substance and habitual offender - third offense in Circuit Court. He will be sentenced July 17 and bond was continue. Bond was set at 25 thousand dollars - cash.
