Gagetown is Addresing Blight Issues Including Razing a Structure

Gagetown, like many other municipalities, has issues with blight.

During this month's village meeting, Police Chief Francis DeShano reported that 19 letters were sent out to residents concerning blight violations.

Some notices were regarding tall grass and weeds in yards and others were for a variety of blight issues.

One eyesore in this community of about 300 residents will soon be gone.

Village officials approved moving forward with the demolition of the structure at 4995 State St.

In other matters, it was reported the council is working on a website.
