Because finding people who want to be on councils, boards, and commissions has become challenging, some municipalities are opting to downsize the number of seats.
Because the Columbiaville Village Council is considering doing that, there will be a public hearing.
The hearing, which will be at the municipal building at 4605 Pine St., Columbiaville, at 5 p.m., on July 14, is regarding decreasing the number of members on the council.
During the hearing, the council will review a proposed resolution and ordinance to reduce the number of council members from six to four.
Following the hearing, the council is expected to adopt the proposal to reduce the number of seats.
A copy of the proposed resolution and ordinance is available for inspection at the village hall.
