Lake Township to Have Millage Proposals on August Ballot

The Lake Township Board of Trustees will be asking for funding for insect control and for road maintenance during the August election.

There will be a request to renew the full 1.5 mills for Spongy Moth (a.k.a. Gypsy Moth) Suppression for four years that was reduced to 1.4395 mills by Headlee Rollback.

A rollback reduces the amount money a millage generates.

Tied to that request for funding is road maintenance, which if approved would generate about $220,969 the first year.

In addition, there will be a request to renew 1.0 mills for road construction and maintenance for four years that was reduced to .9561 of a mill by the Headlee Rollback.

If approved, that millage will generate about $147,313 the first year.
