As part of his building and grounds report, Arbela Township's Supervisor Ed
Hunt noted that cemetery compliance is a hot topic lately with graves being
flagged for non-ompliance.

He went on to report foundations for headstones are being poured as weather
permits and signs have been ordered for the cemetery's spigots noting the
water is not to be used for drinking.

Also, the matter of having signs to list the rules for the cemetery was
brought up. It was suggested the board think about what rules they want so
they can be discussed at the next meeting.

During the meeting, the board was supplied with a map with the Geographic
Information System (GIS) lines on it.

Using GIS was brought up because there is a family that wants to put a
bench and cut the fence that is on the neighboring property and has the
owner's permission to do that.

There is already a family that has done this on the other side of the
cemetery.

A GIS will help to determine exactly where cemetery boundary lines are and
possibly find that the cemetery is over the property line or within the
property lines and where the changes are being proposed are actually within
cemetery lines or outside of them, explained Hunt.

The board gave Hunt permission to get bids to do a GIS survey of the
Gunnell Cemetery.
