Because credit card usage is increasing, the Dayton Township Board of Trustees approved them being used to pay debts to the township.
During this month's meeting, it was reported Treasurer Jodi Barrons took additional training on setting up the new online credit card payment system, which is expected to be operational in the next couple of weeks.
Also, Barrons expressed concerns regarding the estimate for the second hall system camera, the additional hard drive, labor costs to the existing system, and storage requirements warrant the added hard drive, but the board approved the $655 cost to do that.
Also, as a convenience for residents to pay bills, a new mail drop box was installed on the hall door.
In other matters, Barrons returned the post office box key to township Clerk Sandy Wiseman as recommended by Tuscola County Clerk Jodi Fetting for election security.
