Elmwood Township Board Goes Back to Previous Lawyers

The first order of business for the three newly elected members of the Elmwood Township Board of Trustees was to go back to the township's original legal counsel.
The board immediately terminated Bauckham, Thall, Seeber, Kaufman & Koches P.C. as the lawyers for the township.
With that done, the board approved sending an engagement letter to Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith PC to be the township's legal counsel.
The board also authorized Supervisor Chris Graff to sign those letters.
It was the abrupt change in lawyers that initiated the recall of Clerk Pamela Brinkman, and Trustees Rochelle Brown and Even Laurie who voted for the change.
Brinkman was replaced by Michelle Hoppe, Brown was replaced by Daryl Mendrick, and Laurie was replaced by Tom Lounsbury during the May 5 election.
