In Huron County District Court, Curtis Owen Hagensen was arraigned on charges of malicious destruction of personal property under $200 and failure to report an accident to fixtures. Both charges are misdemeanors, carrying potential penalties of up to 93 days in jail and/or a $500 fine for the first charge, and up to 90 days in jail and/or a $200 fine for the second.
Hagensen entered a plea of not guilty to both counts.
Attorney Stephen Allen has been appointed to represent him for the remainder of the case.
The interim bond was set at $3,500, with 10% posted.
Bond conditions include a no-contact order prohibiting purposeful direct or indirect contact with the complaining witness and disallowing Hagensen from being on her property. This order stems from an ongoing neighbor dispute. Incidental contact, such as passing to and from residences, is permitted, but communication is prohibited.
A plea offer form and all discovery are due by June 25th, 2026. The plea cutoff hearing is scheduled for July 9th, 2026, at 10 AM, requiring Hagensen's in-person presence.
