Single Vehicle Trailer Crash In Colfax Twp. Wednesday June 7th

Authorities in Huron County responded to a single-vehicle incident Wednesday morning, June 7th, 2026, at approximately 9:32 a.m. in Colfax Township.
According to the Michigan Traffic Crash Report, the incident occurred near the intersection of Pinnebog Road and Van Dyke Road under clear skies and dry roadway conditions. The vehicle involved was a white 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer traveling southbound on Pinnebog Road.
Investigators reported that the sport utility vehicle came to a stop at the intersection when a trailer being towed by the vehicle became detached. The trailer then struck the rear of the towing vehicle, causing minor damage.
The driver, a 42 year old male and the sole occupant of the vehicle, was wearing a shoulder and lap belt and was not injured. No airbag deployment occurred, and no alcohol, drugs, or driver distraction were reported as factors in the incident.
The vehicle sustained minor damage and remained operable after the crash. No hazardous materials were involved, and no citations were issued at the scene.
The Huron County Sheriff's Office investigated the incident and classified the event as a single-vehicle traffic crash involving a detached trailer. No additional vehicles or injuries were reported.
